Background

Self Help Group Promoting Institutions promote and facilitate credit linkage of Self Help Groups (SHGs) with banks and provide continuous handholding support to them. These institutions also ensure loan repayment.


Objective of the Program

  • Strengthening of SHGs through training, awareness program and capacity building activities.

  • Formation of new SHGs and to educate them regarding book keeping and conducting regular meetings.

  • To provide service to ICICI Bank and financial service to SHGs.

  • To Educate rural women’s regarding the government schemes that help SHGs for their better livelihood.

Activities

SADHANA is working as service provider to ICICI Bank Ltd and financial service provider to SHGs since 2012 in Tumkur district. The project was sponsored by ICICI Bank Ltd.

The Impact of the Program

  • Improved financial literacy of SHG members.

  • The major livelihood activities like dairy development, petty business, tailoring, agriculture and allied activities started.

  • SHG members are actively participating in village development activities.

  • Economic status of SHG members improves. Helps-members to spread more for education of their children.
